This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This book is an accessible, engaging way to help students understand their own mental health and what shapes it. Students in the past have loved this particular book and had rich discussions both in and out of the classroom about what it meant to them and their families. Encouraging students to learn about themselves and why they think and feel how they do will benefit them both short and long term. Additionally, providing them with their own copy (not a class set) lets them read the book outside of school and bring their learning outside the classroom space.
