it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
15 years into my career, I have been tasked with one of the most challenging rosters of students I have ever encountered. But, together, we are working to grow in confidence, social skills, and academics. It's a rewarding challenge for all.
Many of my students have told me they don't want to come to the meeting area because it's uncomfortable.
It's true. There's no rug, and they wind up sitting on a cold tile floor. Those who do lean over to rest books on their legs or the floor, and it's difficult to sustain focus. Some will sit at desks, others will lose focus, and eventually, very little learning is happening.
If we can introduce some comfortable cushions and portable desks, I am sure students will be more motivated to join me up close to learn, and as a result, improve their understanding of our difficult concepts.
