Un Viaje a La Lectura: A Journey Through Hispanic Stories!
Help me give my students books to help my students explore Hispanic culture through vibrant books — celebrating Latino authors, folktales, and traditions while fostering a lifelong love for reading.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The students at our school are curious, compassionate, and eager to explore the world beyond their own experiences. They come from diverse backgrounds, each bringing unique perspectives and a love for learning. This project will give us what we need to hold our School-Wide Book Fiesta!
A Book Fiesta celebrates the rich culture, stories, and contributions of Hispanic authors and traditions.
Students will explore Latino literature, folktales, music, and storytelling while building a love for reading. The books I’m requesting — rich in Hispanic stories, folktales, and cultural traditions — will help my students see themselves in literature while also broadening their understanding of others. These stories will spark meaningful conversations, nurture empathy, and build a deeper appreciation for Hispanic heritage.
Our goal is to create an inclusive, vibrant school where students can immerse themselves in powerful, authentic narratives. This project will inspire a lifelong love of reading while celebrating the voices and contributions of the Hispanic community — ensuring every student feels seen, valued, and empowered.
