My Students
The students in my integrated teacher classroom are all wonderful and eager to learn.
Our school is a Title One school which has nearly one thousand students from various and similar backgrounds, all of are struggling to receive the best education possible while dealing with the circumstances of living in a poor and overcrowded school district.
A typical day in my ICT classroom for students with special needs can be demanding and stimulating. I am constantly on my feet all day. My days are spent constantly redirecting my students' behaviors, teaching to meet the academic needs of each individual student and giving out rewards.
My Project
This project will really help our struggling students, community, and school environment. Most of our students walk long long distances to and from school. Unlike many school age students living or going to school in other districts, when a student metro card is misplaced or lost, our parents can not afford to pay for regular cards. Therefore, students have to walk through heavy rainfall or boiling hot sunshine. Yes, there are time when they walk to school when the weather is comfortable and enjoyable. However, there are those times at dismissal, when it is raining cat and dogs. My project will enable my students to go to the main office to borrow an umbrella to use to walk home and return to school community for the next struggling student to use.
I don't want my kiddos to drag into school sick, shivering cold, damp and wet from not having something as valuable as an umbrella.
