This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
We believe that every student, no matter what, should have the chance at college success. The students at our school are buoyed up by a community of educators with the passion to ensure success. We are located in the middle of a diverse, working-class neighborhood in Hayward.
Two years ago, we opened a brand new middle school!
This year, we are a 6th-7th-8th grade college-bound community of innovators, creative thinkers, athletes, and change makers. We are fully grown but still getting settled, so all of your support helps!
My Project
Our new campus is such an honor for our school! It's also very hot and bright during lunch and our 10-minute break. Our families and students have identified that having more shade in our courtyard is the #1 change they would like to make to our school.
Please help us make this improvement to beautify our school!
We currently have 8 umbrellas providing shade for about 50 students. With 4 more umbrellas, we'll be able to provide shade for 25 more students. Students also use these tables and shady spots during the day to read, after school for homework, and in the morning while waiting for class.
