My students need ukuleles! They are easy to learn and teach students how to read music. Students will learn to play in groups and individually. Learning to play builds self-esteem and helps students transition to more difficult musical instruments later. We need a set of 23 soprano ukuleles, gig bag carrying cases, and tuners.
By donating to this project, you are providing my students with a chance to learn something that will benefit them for the rest of their lives, whether they choose to pursue music or not.
Students will have a string instruments to use during class. Students will learn how to tune the ukulele, play open strings, learn the scale of C, and play chords Am, F, G, and C. By playing the ukuleles I hope students will be motivated to play a band and orchestra instrument and will have a chance to enrich their lives with music.
