My Project

Children can be so resilient and flexible to change. My students have bounced back quickly through every challenge in the last 23 months of a pandemic that interrupted every facet of their lives. The joy they bring to the music class every day makes it all worthwhile. I try my best to provide everything to these students even without having a music budget to pull from.

I want to give these students a chance they have never had; the chance to learn a ukulele.

This is an opportunity usually only available to wealthy school districts with thousands of students. Our elementary school has approximately 225 students K-4 all in one building. Every one of those students who comes through my room would have the ability to play a ukulele. If we can get funded to have 25 instruments, I can make sure that no one misses out in each class including when our special education coop joins us for music.
