This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I started a ukulele after school program last year and would like to complete a class set so that each student has their own instrument to play. I am only 8 ukuleles short. My students absolutely love learning to play them! They are so eager to learn and it's fun to see them excited about learning music and seeing the looks on their faces as they progress! They really love performing for their parents and each other. My goal is for them to develop a love for playing a string instrument at a young age and the ukulele is a great beginning instrument! In the future I would also like to plan a ukulele unit during the day in music class for 2nd-4th grades. Thank you for considering my project!
