Ukulele Club: Bringing a Bit of Hawaii to the Bronx

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our special education school doesn’t have a music program. Students have expressed interest in learning music, but currently there is not an option for that.
I am looking to start a afterschool ukulele club to help students get access to music education in a fun environment.
Music education can help students remain engaged in school, work on social skills by playing in an ensemble, and improve motor skills. Students will also benefit by building confidence and expressing themselves creatively.
I am looking for support to buy a set of ukuleles to help start up the club. Thank you very much!
