My Students
How do I reach a diverse group of 5th graders with different learning skills and keep them actively engaged in learning? Music! Music is a big part of how I teach and how my students learn.
My students have a desire to learn music, and I want to be able to nurture their love for music and literacy in my classroom.
Providing hands on music education in the classroom is so important for my students. Music helps our kids learn: from science, to math, and literacy! Help me to put rhythm back in the classroom to make learning fun!
Everyone can't wait to sing along with a ukulele! The minute I pick up and play my ukulele, the students rush to sit around me to singalong. I want to share my passion for music by teaching my students to play the ukulele. By providing students with ukuleles instruments, they will enjoy the process of learning music and achievement will improve! Students will not only learn music elements, they will make memories last through song and rhythm. Students will create and write their own songs for science, social studies, math, and literacy curriculum.
My Project
My 5th grade students are bright and eager learners, and I want to inspire to them to explore the different modes of learning. With musical instruments, I will be giving my students an opportunity to tap into their musical skills and improve their academic skills along the way.
Ukuleles in the classroom will be a fun and exciting way for the students to grow as life long learners.
Students will look forward to ukulele sessions to learning musical elements and applying them when they play an actual instrument. They will also have an opportunity to collaborate with other classes, to share the importance and benefits of music education.
