Help me give my students additional ukuleles to complete our classroom set so all students may have an ukulele in their hands during class as well as colored strings to assist in group instruction and boost student success.
Six years ago, supporters funded a project to provide a class set of ukuleles for my students. I have been teaching my third grade general music students the basics of playing the ukulele every year since. I added Aquila KIDS color-coded strings to the class set of ukuleles to help facilitate instrumental instruction in a group setting. The colors have helped students experience greater success in playing and made it easier to teach many students at once. All of my third grade students over the last several years have been able to play a fretted string instruments because of the generous donations of supporters
Adjusted schedules and growing class sizes have resulted in my original class set of ukuleles falling short of the number of students in each third grade section, which is why I am requesting an additional four ukuleles and sets of colored strings.
My students love playing instruments and I want to continue giving them the opportunity to make music on ukuleles for years to come!
