My Project
Help me broaden the horizons of my students with ukuleles!!
I teach music at a Title I school to students with great potential.
Ukuleles might not be something they would otherwise experience outside of my classroom. Please help me purchase a set to allow my students this unique exploration. Music is known to increase language skills, reading achievement, and student engagement. Some of the skills my students will gain include reading, listening, language, intonation, rhythm, and dexterity; as well as responsibility and cooperation, all while using an instrument.
My students love music and are incredibly excited to play their first string instrument. Ukuleles are great for elementary students of all ages as their size is more accommodating of small hands and fingers than many adult instruments. This project provides 10 ukuleles with cases for safe storage and will be used with students from kindergarten through 4th grade. That means every student at my school will have an opportunity to enjoy these instruments and build on the skills they have learned the previous year(s).
