My Students

I have the privilege to teach every student in the school. They come to music class in a rotation every 3 days. I get to see students from Kindergarten to 5th grade. They are wonderful students with great excitement for music. These students have great persistence and drive and it is a great honor to be their teacher.

We are a charter school and we have students from all ages, backgrounds, diversity, and learning styles.

It is a wonderful learning community with great kids.

My Project

Many of my students qualify for free and reduced lunch and have many difficulties in their personal lives. Despite all of the things the students face at home, they come to school eager to learn and ready to work.

My students came to me wanting more.

They wanted to learn how to accompany themselves and perform the music of today, but they also wanted to understand how music is written. As an educator, that inspires me. They are relentless in their pursuit of excellence and want to succeed. With your help, we can have access to the tools to help them on their journey and instill in them a life-long joy!

By learning a few simple chords on a ukulele, students can learn and put it into practice pitch, melody, harmony, rhythm, and many other musical elements in a fun and exciting way. After just learning three or four chords, students can play literally hundreds of songs including the songs they hear everyday, and it can transform the way they think about the music they listen to.

Students will gain invaluable performance experience and musical skill!
