My Project
Our students face great challenges outside of the classroom. We create a safe, fun, and empowering classroom for our students to thrive in all areas of their life. Our school is located in the inner city with underprivileged families striving for a better life. Single parents, grandparents, and older siblings continue to do their very best to instill a better way of living for their families.
We are a Title I school with great potential.
I love my students and spend most of my out-of-the-classroom time developing projects to enhance their learning and wellbeing.
My students need back-up uniforms when their current ones are frayed, ripped, or torn!
The new uniforms will enhance the student's self-esteem and prevent bullying and name calling by other students. Socks are necessary to keep their little toes warm and toasty, especially in the classroom where the temperature can be rather cool.
Inner city parents struggle to get that first uniform for the first day of school; they stand in long lines for backpack give-aways with school supplies inside, along with getting free immunizations to ensure their child/children will be equipped with the school necessities.
A generous donation would ensure that the uniform can be replaced if it becomes too small to wear. Throughout the year, students soil, rip, and stain their skirts and pants, along with losing buttons on shirts. It would be very nice to be able to assist the single parent or grandparent with a replacement.
