Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As the new 2016-2017 school year begins, I am enthusiastic to help inspire my students to develop further. My students' enthusiasm, creativity, and voice in their work has taught me a lot and it is my pleasure to foster this in my new group. They have excellent ideas and can work to guide their own education and projects if allowed the opportunity.

I want to inspire and encourage my 4th grade magnet students to further develop confidence in all they do; in written and spoken word, in growing and strengthening their work ethic, as well as in developing a healthy and active lifestyle.

We are a learning community within a Title 1 school in a low-income area. Our school is on a free breakfast and lunch program. Students are willing and able to step up with confidence, to challenges, despite their own.

My Project

Having the ability to type writing pieces and research further, within our classroom, will be so beneficial to my students. Currently, we are only able to access our computer lab once, every other week. This amount of time does not allow students to develop in; typing, researching skills, AND allow time for activities and academically focused games. With this added technology, students will have more opportunity to strengthen these skills.

My students need to be technologically prepared for their future, yet are unable to practice those skills and tasks that would allow them to develop.

With our society moving towards digitally written work and computer based testing, the more practice and preparation available, the better the future will be for these students.
