My Project
As a first-grade teacher of a class full of curious and enthusiastic world travelers, I am constantly inspired by my students' eagerness to explore and engage with new learning tools. One of the most common questions I hear is, “Can I use your laptop?” — referring to my personal device. While each student has access to an iPad, many of them are eager to experience the real-world skills of typing on a keyboard, using a laptop, and printing their work.
Our goal is to help students develop real-life technological skills in a safe and structured environment.
They will learn about digital creation, document formatting, and how technology can support their academic journeys. Whether writing about the countries we "travel" to in class or creating a brochure for their dream destination, students will be empowered to use the tools professionals use every day.
This project will provide our classroom with one HP Envy Touchscreen Laptop and an HP Office Jet Wireless Color Printer. These tools will open the door to meaningful, hands-on learning opportunities that go beyond the iPad. With a laptop, my students can practice typing, navigate digital research tools, and produce polished writing pieces. The printer will allow them to see their digital work transformed into physical output—an exciting and empowering experience for young learners.
Your support will give my students the opportunity to gain early exposure to essential 21st-century skills and inspire their continued curiosity and creativity.
