Help my students continue beating the odds through reading!
I am a special education teacher in North Minneapolis Public Schools, working with an incredible group of students in a Setting III program.
Despite facing challenges related to behavior, they show up every single day, ready to learn and eager to grow. This year, they have worked harder than ever to reach their reading goals—and they are succeeding beyond measure! They are proving that with the right support, they can overcome any obstacle.
To keep this momentum going, I want to create a classroom book club where my students can experience the joy of reading together. Many of them struggle with reading, and I want to provide engaging books that will inspire them, build their confidence, and make reading fun. After reading, we will complete creative projects to bring the stories to life, reinforcing comprehension and critical thinking skills.
Unfortunately, my school does not have the funds to provide these materials. That’s where you come in! Your support will help put multiple copies of exciting books into my students’ hands, giving them the opportunity to read, discuss, and grow together.
