My Project

Help me give my 5th graders a class set of the novel Blood on the River so they can step back in time and experience the drama of early America. This richly detailed historical fiction follows young Samuel Collier as he navigates the challenges of life in Jamestown, from perilous river voyages to tense encounters with the Powhatan people.

By introducing Blood on the River into our 5th-grade curriculum, students will not only build critical reading and discussion skills but also develop a deeper, more personal connection to the foundations of our nation.

Your support will empower every learner in my classroom to engage with history in a meaningful way—transforming names and dates on a timeline into living, breathing stories.
