My Project
My 2nd grade students are bright, curious, and full of potential. They attend an equity-focused public school where we work hard to ensure every child—no matter their background—has access to the tools they need to thrive. Many of my students come from low-income households and have limited access to books at home. For many, our classroom is their primary source of reading materials.
This project will allow me to build a rich, inclusive classroom library filled with books that reflect my students’ interests, cultures, and lived experiences.
I’m requesting a mix of early chapter books, high-interest nonfiction, and culturally relevant picture books that will help my students grow as confident readers and thinkers.
