Turn That Wall Into An Interactive Whiteboard!

My students need software that will allow them to turn their Kinect into an interactive whiteboard.

My Students

My students come in loud and proud every morning. They are an active group so traditional kill and drill doesn't work with them. Right now, they are struggling academically, but we are making progress. It is a challenge to keep their attention.

My students come from a poor area.

71% of our students receive free and reduced lunch. Many do not have access to computers in their homes. Our school is a small public charter is located in Central Florida. We serve students who struggle in a traditional educational settings. Many of our students come to us feeling defeated. We are as much counselors as teachers.

My Project

The regular public schools have access to beautiful shiny SmartBoards. In our school we have lovely whiteboards. With this project, you will be funding the software to create a whiteboard out of any surface using an XBOX Kinect. Just imagine how awesome it would be for students to be able to come to the board to model fractions or multiplication problems. They can also highlight and annotate text. The possibilities are endless!!

By donating to my project, you will be helping kids who can't help themselves.

They will be so incredibly excited to be able to take an active role in their education. They will be able to teach each other instead of me having to lecture and drone on and on.
