This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
"Let's be the pioneers of change in education!" Interactive whiteboards are the best way to defeat boredom in our everyday lessons. Our students are tired of looking at the same whiteboard, which indeed replaced the chalk board, however it's monotonous to their young, curious minds.
Students in my class come from an urban neighborhood in southern California, in which parents struggle with our tumultuous economy.
My boys and girls however value their education, as it is evident in their daily attendance and ambition in their grades. Economic hardships are quite visible in our school community, but that doesn't stop my students from maintaining a very positive attitude towards school. We are a Title One school, which means that all, if not most, of our student population qualify for free meals. Our classroom environment is a happy, child-friendly place in which my kids and I feel a sense of freedom of expression and joy to learn. Together they feel an immense feeling of family, which has been fostered since day one.
My Project
Having the opportunity to utilize an interactive whiteboard in my classroom will change my students' lives for the better in the following ways: 1.) It will bring my language arts lessons, units, test preparation, assessments, and presentations to life! No more boring marker and board!!! 2.) It will make my daily math lessons, topics, test preparation, tests, and diagrams lively! 3.) All cross curricular subjects will be brought to life for my students, they will be flabbergasted...and they will learn the material in a very sound and meaningful way. They will be able to teach and learn heterogeneously by utilizing the interactive board themselves to participate in any given lesson. They can ask and answer questions, as well as demonstrate and create presentations with this wonderful device. It's also a great way to foster a technology rich environment, which will help them succeed in their academic futures.
