My Students

Are you a fan of 'American Idol' and 'America's Got Talent'? Well, our students are so talented, not one "BOOOO" has been heard in our auditorium. But, without the proper audio system, great singers might not be heard.

As the adviser of for our student-run Talent Committee, it is my pleasure to see all of the talent that is featured at our monthly performances.

Our students are talented singers, dancers, comedians, poets and actresses. Although it is an elementary school, I am often surprised at the 5th, 4th, 3rd, 2nd, and even 1st graders who take the stage like professionals! Students are given the opportunity to audition for stage time, then rehearse with a talent coach (a talented teacher) and finally perform in front of an audience of their peers, parents and teachers. We are quite a few blocks from Broadway. However, these young performers are always ready for the spotlight. They are rock stars!

My Project

Our audio system, especially the microphone set-up, is outdated and not very practical for young performers. A wireless microphone system would improve the quality of our performances. It would get rid of the frustration that comes from audience members who cannot hear the voices of the talent represented on stage. It would support our students that are eager to share their love of the stage with others.

The most exciting nights of the year happen during our school's Talent Show Nights!

The boys and girls of our elementary school are given the opportunity to show their talent in vocals, comedy, dance, acting and poetry. The auditorium is always packed to capacity and parents, teachers and special guests have a good time! Our only needed improvement is with our audio system. It is old and outdated. With your donation, our talented singers and poets will be heard clear across the room.
