Help me give my students Silent Disco headphones for control over their sensory experience and still be included in the celebrations that occur around them.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Silent Disco headphones would provide sensory regulation at whole school events, reaching so many students. Headphones have adjustable volumes, allowing students with auditory sensitivities to control their environment, preventing overstimulation and promoting focus.
These headphones provide a less pressured social setting where students can engage in a shared activity without the overwhelming noise of a traditional dance.
The headphones will create a fun and engaging event where all students, including those with special needs, can participate and feel included. Music can be a powerful tool for emotional regulation, and the headphones allow students to choose music that helps them feel calm or energized. These headphones would promote inclusion, allowing students who may need breaks to still participate in the overall event. Events using quiet headphones may offer a safe and supportive space for students to practice social skills and build connections. This project gives hope for creating memorable and positive experiences for all students.
