Help me give my students boards and pieces so that they can play chess instead of waiting for a turn at just one of 2 boards.
FULLY FUNDED! Mr. Moody's classroom raised $294

My Project
Students have been joining me during their lunch period to learn and play chess. What started as 2 students has turned into 8 and continues to grow. The students are supportive and share tactics and strategies with each other to help the entire group progress.
Chess has attracted a diverse group of students that exemplifies and embraces inclusivity.
We have a student with down syndrome who was one of the original 2 that came to play and has learned all the basics of game. Chess is giving himself and other students the impetus to interact and get to know each other.
Chess also has the added benefit of improving cognitive abilities. Let’s get more boards and turn chess spectators into chess masters!
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
