Tuning Up Music Literacy with Ukuleles and Music Books
Help me give my students 5 ukuleles, music books and headphones to build music literacy, strengthen our class set, and ensure every child has the tools to read, play, and create music with confidence.

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I love that my students come to music class full of energy, curiosity, and a deep love for learning through sound and movement. They’re eager to explore instruments and excited to grow as musicians. With additional ukuleles and music books, every student will have hands-on access to learning how to read music, understand rhythm, and play as part of a group. These resources will strengthen our class set and ensure no child is left out.
These tools directly support the development of music literacy by helping students connect written notation to sound and performance.
The music books will guide them in understanding musical symbols, rhythm patterns, and form, while the ukuleles give them a fun, accessible way to apply what they’ve learned. Students will grow more confident in reading and creating music, building both musical and cognitive skills. Thank you for helping us create a classroom where every child can read, play, and express themselves through music!
