My Students

Who remembers their 4th grade class? Need to know something? Pull out an encyclopedia. How to spell a word? A dictionary, of course. Map a country? Check the atlas. Man, have those days changed!

My students are 4th graders, between 8 and 10 years old, leaving a 3rd grade class of 20 for a 4th grade class of 33.

50% more students cuts down on the amount of attention they received just a few months ago. Now, they can hold a little help in the palm of their hand.

My Project

My Project: Why an iPad Mini? Consider the following: Landing Curiosity on Mars, Felix Baumgartner's jump from the edge of space, watching engaging video, enjoying raps to learn grade-level vocabulary, watching Bill Nye the Science Guy lessons, and reading books on "tape." These are all great ways to learn! I can safely add these items to an iPad Mini for students to hold in the palm of their hand. Ever flown over your town to see your house from 500 feet? My students can with Google Earth. Who lives closer to school, you or your best friend? Pull it up and measure it out! Spelling practice, learning vocabulary with flashcards with full-color photos, challenge each other to learning math facts, I can hand it to them, in an iPad Mini, with your help! Want to see the Eiffel Tower from space? Done. Photos of van Gogh's paintings? How many can your eyes take in? Google it! Enjoy! Synonyms? Antonyms? Spellings? Noun or verb? Dictionary.com's got an app for that!

I don't have to tell you how tight funds are for schools.
