This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Have you ever thought back to when you were just learning how to read and had difficulty? This is a challenge that is faced by many of my students.
My students are ELLs (English Language Learners) who are learning how to read in English or that have difficulty reading.
To alleviate this problem the students have the ability to listen to some books on tape as well as being read aloud on the computer.
My Project
With the addition of headphones to the classroom, students will have the ability to read their books at their own pace and not distract others while doing their assigned reading. Students can also have questions read and re-read to them as many times as they like.
These donations will help students build their reading levels by giving students the opportunity to read at a pace that they are comfortable with.
Students will feel less stressed because they are having someone read to them instead of feeling the pressure of having to read alone.
