My Project
I teach and am surrounded by AMAZING students daily in our rural school that have very BIG appetites as most teens do! We all know that teens stay hungry, but there are also students that I have encountered that need something to not only fill their tummies at school, but need items available for them to take home when they have fallen on hard times.
Through funding this project, students will continue to be able to enter my classroom doors and have a small warm meal with bowls and forks waiting and/or a filling snack, but when times are tough at home, also have items available to stash away in their backpack for later on.
I have always been burdened for the needs of my students because I grew up in poverty as many of them are doing and I believe in bridging the gap. I bridged this gap for years fully of my own expense and cannot believe the opportunities that DonorsChoose has opened for me to help others.
