My students need a classroom set of the book, "Tuesdays With Morrie".
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Boswell's classroom raised $541

While I attempt to be a "Morrie", I am limited by money!
I am a high school English teacher in a rural, struggling community in Michigan. Students in this area struggle with socioeconomic limits and with getting an education complete with fresh, relative materials to make learning an authentic experience. As much as I want to make this learning process unforgettable, I am limited by the same obstacles that hinder my students.
The state of Michigan recently changed our state curriculum and that means the materials from 15 years ago are no longer able to meet our needs. I have classroom sets of novels that have been repaired multiple times along the way, but there is only so much that rubber cement and book tape can do. I desperately need new materials, and to actually have the materials the state calls me to provide for my students as they meet the challenges of a college-preparatory course load.
If I am able to obtain a classroom set of the novel,Tuesday With Morrie, my students can embark on a journey that exemplifies quality relationships, the learning process, and how love can change us all. For these kids, it is vital that they realize that education is more than the lessons learned in the classroom, but rather it is full of life changing elements that shape them into the adults they will one day be. I have a single copy of the book, Tuesdays With Morrie, in my classroom library, and my students quickly attached themselves to it, and commented on how great it is to have read such a compelling novel based on real life experience. My hope is that it will inspire them to one day share their story.
Alone I am not able to make this experience possible, but with your help, together we can change the lives of my students one page at a time. Knowing that someone in the world took interest in their educational experience is sure to make them feel loved and appreciated in ways they may never understand and never soon forget. Please take the time to assist me in this fight for literacy and experience. Thank you in advance for all you have done or will do in the future.
