My Project

"Tubular Tunes: A Boomwhacker Extravaganza" is a project aimed at introducing Boomwhackers, a set of tuned percussion tubes, into our elementary music curriculum. These colorful and versatile instruments have the power to transform the traditional music classroom into an engaging and interactive space for our students.

My students are from a Title 1 Elementary with most families falling below the poverty level.

This project would help close the equity gap and provide our students with the same level of exposure to a variety of instruments and an appreciation of music that can carry far into their futures.

Playing Boomwhackers can enrich the music education of our elementary students by providing hands-on experience, creativity, and encouraging active participation in music lessons.

Students of all abilities can participate and collaborate in the joy of making music together. In my experience, Boomwhackers provide increased student engagement and enthusiasm in music classes.
