This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I have been in the classroom for over twelve years, and students don't seem to share a love of reading. I used to unpack all of my library books, but students don't go for the classics or even any book over 20 years old. I want to integrate my novels with fresh novels they have heard of so that maybe students start to take a chance. I want them to develop a habit of reading, and these books may be the gateway.

I have so many students who need an outlet, and sometimes going to our library is too public.

Sometimes people think it is not cool to be smart. They need a closer opportunity to be able to explore without judgment.
