I'm a second grade classroom teacher of all core subjects, including science. A part of my school's mission is to foster the development of whole, balanced, and critically thinking students.
It is my goal to help fulfill my school's mission by providing my students with an inquiry based/hands-on science course. Your donation will give my students the opportunity to have access to essential science tools and interactive science kits.
The materials that we are requesting will be used for conducting experiments, making quantitative observations, collecting/analyzing data and taking measurements. These materials will be used throughout the school year (Sept.-June) to enhance the learning for the following Science Units; Properties of Matter Solid, Liquid and Gas), Organization of Living Things (Plants and Animals) and Water. In addition to the science units listed above, students will use the Insect Kit during the school's annual "Bug Week", where students learn about and research insects.
Your help will ensure that my students will have the tools needed to gather facts, observe specimen and make hands-on discoveries. Also, because these materials are reusable, they will benefit students for years to come.
