Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are kindergarten through fifth graders who are full of energy. They visit the library once per week for a scheduled special. In addition, teachers send students to the library to complete a task or come for a full class activity. Some also come during recess for fun or to mentor younger students.

The students have adapted to the challenges thrown at them this past year and are not only surviving but thriving in this very different environment.

My students come from very diverse backgrounds. They love reading diverse books, participating in maker space activities and STEM challenges, and are very curious. There are over 1,400 students in our school!

I have a large population of English language learners. They are eager to learn and enjoy every minute of it. My students are both general and special education students. They are all amazing kids!

My Project

Our K-5 Students have been resilient and hard workers since day 1! To continue to celebrate our love of literacy, we will be hosting a school wide Trunk or Treat! Healthy alternatives to candy will be given out such as books, bookmarks, pencils and stickers.

The materials in this projects will help make our Trunk or Treat an amazing experience for our hard working students!

The photo backdrop and wall decorations will help set the scene and make it a school day to remember while the plastic rings and bookmarks will be a healthy alternative to candy.
