This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
"Ahhh," is the sound I make when I walk into a classroom where walls are neatly organized and work is displayed.
I teach in a high poverty area where many of my students are on the free or reduced lunch program.
Money is tight in their family budgets, so I do all that I can to provide them with the daily school supplies and then some. I try to keep an adequate supply of materials so I can focus my attention on lesson planning and delivery.
My Project
We need a paper trimmer in our classroom so I can easily get work up on the walls in a timely manner without having to wait in line in our workroom to use the trimmer. We also need more card pockets for our Department of Responsibilities wall so I can display our class jobs and who has what responsibility for the week. I need legal size laminating pouches so I can laminate the longer paper items I want to keep for extended periods of time.
Having these items will help me more efficiently plan for my school days.
I won't have to worry about who is using the trimmer or laminating machine as I would be able to trim paper or laminate whenever it fits into my schedule.
