My students need trikes to increase their active play and activate learning.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Please consider helping students from a Title 1 school where needs are high and funding is low.
These needs are even higher after the devastation of Hurricane Harvey.
The students in my classroom are amazing children with a range of needs and most are English Language Learners. We have a population of 84% with free and reduced lunch in our school which makes us a Title 1 school. Our amazing teachers and aids love learning and implementing new ways to teach our students and strive to help every student succeed.
My Project
We all know that getting exercise makes us feel better and perform better. That's very true for my students! This year they will be attending school all day and burning off that extra energy will be crucial.
The trikes I am requesting are needed to facilitate physical and mental growth.
The CDC states, "...physical activity can have an impact on cognitive skills and attitudes and important components of improved academic performance. These include enhanced concentration and attention as well as improved classroom behavior."
These trikes will help my students with gross motor skills as well as burn off the extra energy they have and help them focus in the classroom.
Thank you for considering my classroom project. I can't wait to see how much it helps my students focus when they return to class.
