My students are an amazing group of kids. They are enthusiastic about school and embrace everything we do in class. They love reading, P.E., math, and science. Our school is a kindergarten through eighth grade school located in rural California. It serves 450 students. Our school is surrounded by forests and mountains and has daily visitors such as geese, turkeys, and deer.
Our school has a strong academic and athletic culture.
I want to maintain our strength in these areas by continuing to provide materials to enrich my students' experiences.
My Project
I am requesting books, pens and ink for our project for a mock trial, The Trial of Goldylocks.
We will start our study by reading the book Lemonade Stand and learn how the children have their own mock trial on the playground.
After we finish the book, my students will participate in a play of the Mock Trial of Goldylocks. Students will study how a trial is run, who the key players are in the courtroom, key vocabulary and the benefits of living in a country where the rights of the citizens are to a trial by his/her peers.
The paper, ink and writing utensils will be used to print scripts, make name cards and to prep the trial.
