Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are bold, brilliant, and full of personality, and yes, they’ll absolutely write an essay if there’s a Hot Cheeto in it for them. I teach at a Title I school where 100% of our students receive free lunch, and many face barriers no child should ever have to navigate. Yet, every day, they show up, ready to learn, eager to grow, and always asking, “Do we get a treat today?”

This project brings in spicy chips, candy, and fun incentives as tools to motivate and celebrate.

Because when you’re ten years old and the world feels heavy, sometimes a pack of Skittles or a lollipop can make all the difference. These aren’t just snacks, they’re symbols of recognition, encouragement, and joy. They help students believe that their effort matters, that someone sees them, and that their hard work is worth it.

Your donation will directly impact some of the most deserving kids you’ll never meet. It says, “I believe in you,” in the form of a Kit Kat. It says, “Keep showing up,” with a handful of Jolly Ranchers. It turns a tough day into one worth pushing through.
