This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I love to hear my students respond to my cheers.
I say, "Class, class?" and my students respond, "Yes, yes!"
I say, "Hocus pocus!" and my students say, "Time to focus!"
I love to see their faces light up when they hear that and respond with a confident and strong chorus.
I am teaching 2nd grade and love it every day with these wonderful students. Every day with them is an adventure and filled with love and understanding. I work at a Title I school where most of our students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch. Providing my students with this opportunity will increase their cognitive understanding.
My Project
I want to keep kids engaged with small incentives that will encourage and motivate positive learning and behavior. When students reach a learning benchmark, they are encouraged by recognition. Awards like these are a small token of appreciation and are lasting reminders of their achievements.
I plan to give my students a boost of enthusiasm with incentives for students like team stickers and new pencils to start a new project.
When they use their pencils, they are reminded of the challenge of their project and the pride they have in completing it. Classroom rewards such as these will appeal to the imagination of my students.
