My Project
"Treasure Talk: Speech and Games" is a project designed to enhance articulation and oral language skills through engaging activities. It combines articulation drill practice using minimal pair photo cards with interactive board games, making speech therapy both effective and fun!
Many of my early elementary students exhibit various phonological processes that affect their speech clarity. Utilizing minimal pair cards with real photographs is an effective strategy in phonological intervention, as they help children differentiate between speech sounds that vary by only one phoneme, leading to more precise speech and better communication.
Some of my English language learners need extra assistance to form grammatically correct sentences that align with their age group. They respond well to modeling techniques that demonstrate components of sentence structure. Flip books are effective tools for enhancing expressive language skills by providing visual support. Additionally, students enjoy participating in game-based activities during articulation exercises and structured language tasks. This project also includes sensory supports. Integrating sensory supports such as fidget tools and manipulatives into classroom activities can significantly enhance students' engagement and learning experiences. These tools provide essential sensory input, aiding in self-regulation and focus during lessons and group tasks.
