My students need trays that they can keep on their laps and pillows to sit on that will enable them to sit and write anywhere in the room they are comfortable.

My Students
My students are young (4-5 years old) and often find it difficult to stay at their desks and write. These pillows and lap trays will help them be mobile when working, which will help them build up their stamina!
My classroom is a dual-language kindergarten, filled with 42 4-5 year olds.
These students are developing literacy, and more importantly a love of reading. They love to hear stories in both English and French.
The classroom is located in a public school in Brooklyn, NY. It is a Title 1 school.
My Project
Young children love to tell stories, but sitting in their seats for more than 8-10 minutes can make most of them fidgety, and they can lose focus. Being able to move around the room, stretch one's legs, and be comfortable means that they will be able to write for longer periods of time, which will help them build stamina.
Floor pillows and lap trays ensure that students will be able to move around the classroom and sit wherever they wish to work. This should help them keep their attention for longer periods, which is an important skill when learning to read and write!
