Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are young learners who are eager to learn and grow. They come from many different backgrounds and experiences. We are part of a brand new school in a culturally and socioeconomically diverse community. Our school believes that all children can succeed if given the right opportunities and resources. Strong involvement in community improvement is something stressed to our students on a daily basis. Although small, our little ones strive to make a difference in the community in which they live. I strive to provide my students and families with experiences that create a fun and fulfilling childhood!
My Project
We will learn about life cycles in one of our units of studies. Seeing and touching the animals and insects in person and learning about their life cycles will help solidify learning and provide hands on experiences. Many of my students come from very low income families and they would have difficulty affording such an experience. I feel that this experience will instill a love of learning and a love of science in my students, while also peaking curiousity about life and life cycles. They would be so happy and excited to have animals come and visit their classrooms . Thank you!
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
