it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My kids have improved so much in their reading this year. They are so proud of themselves, as am I! My kids are more enthusiastic about reading presently than how they started the school year. They are not only learning to love reading, but also love listening to stories. They are wanting to read longer, selecting chapter books, and building their stamina and fluency. Their perseverance has truly shined! A rug in our classroom would allow us to come together either as a classroom or a small group to travel through a variety of stories. It would create a space to enjoy independent reading, a read aloud, and create the opportunities for a boost of self confidence. It has been so neat to see their self esteem shine when they see their own success in their reading.
The books selected are intended for students be exposed and learn about our Earth and animals and how we have caused damage, as well as an understanding of how to continue to protect, preserve, and care for Earth.
I want to develop the love for Earth, expose my students to how Earth is changing and develop a consciousness for its future. Hopefully, we can enjoy these age appropriate books on our new classroom rug. I appreciate the generosity to continue to motivate my kids with their reading.
