Help me give my students a chance to take a look into other cultural backgrounds through literature.

My Students
As a first year teacher, I am teaching at a Title I, low income school. My students are very hardworking and love hands on activities, they are also English language learners. Learning and obtaining the information looks different for each individual due to their level of English proficiency, however they love to read or be read to, write, and creative activities.
My Project
The books that I am requesting is the core of the example that I am wanting to embrace to my students, diversity. Being a teacher of ELL students, many students, respectfully come from many backgrounds and I feel that having a "Cultural Center" is perfect for a student to read through the lens of someone different or someone he/she may connect with. It can create age-appropriate conversation and being able to instill in the children that different is good! I want this "Cultural Center" to create a safe space for the students and to learn about different eras and different cultural backgrounds.
