Traveling the World Through Books and Art!

My Project

This group of children are amazingly talented and curious! With these art supplies and curriculum, I plan to introduce them to new and exciting locations and landmarks around the world. They will learn about interesting locations of countries, landmarks, and cultures through the use of atlases and the curriculum workbooks. They will read the National Geographic Kids U.S. Atlas and use the pencils to write about how different locations around the world vary depending on their environment. They will use the headphones to listen to videos, audiobooks, and cultural music.

With the art supplies, students will participate in art activities such as building a famous landmark of their choice, completing, coloring, and labeling maps/worksheets and making and labeling 3-D landforms.

By combining Geography, Art, and Language Arts, I hope to spark an interest to someday leave the boundaries of their comfort zones and travel to great destinations around the world, even if it's only through books!
