My Students
I have loved getting lost in the pages of a great story and traveling through the eyes of an amazing book since I can remember. As a Reading Teacher of 5th Graders in small town America, it is my greatest desire to share this love of reading to my young, creative, rural, entrepreneurs, and future writers!
Creating an inviting environment in the classroom with a stellar, classroom library will help to put fresh pages in front of my students and introduce them to some great heroes, who whether they can eventually travel and meet such inspiring places and people or not, can create a world still full of wonder.
Thank you for making it possible to add quality books for my students! My desire is to nurture them to want to make the world a better place!
My Project
Whether a child is sitting at home, waiting for the bus, or learning in a classtroom setting, the classroom books availble to them can be transported anywhere, anytime. Having new and up to date books will encourage their reading ability in a natural way, aligning with their interests, and fueling their dreams. I introduce my students to books weekly with read alouds and allow them to borrow them to read independently. Reading takes children on adventures when practical life doesn't always allow them to. I'm so excited to be able to offer my students more! Thank you for helping to encourage voracious readers!
