Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Science is a class where students are required to do a lot of critical thinking, problem solving and collaboration. Currently, my students are sitting in individual desks that are raised up as high as possible to accommodate their teenage sizes.

By using trapezoid tables, instead of individual desks, students will have the opportunity to collaborate with each other to deepen their problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

In addition, they will have a table that will accommodate their size/height and will allow them the space to complete labs and other hands-on activities done in science.

My school is a Title 1 school so students don't have a lot of academic advantages outside of school. I would like to encourage students to pursue careers in science and math related fields. By using tables instead of desks, they will have the opportunity to do more hands-on activities to make learning science more relatable and understandable.
