My Students
My students are the most resilient kids I have ever met. As a special educator it is imperative that we provide our students with the best materials possible to lead them towards success. I truly believe that the world needs all kinds of minds, and instilling this in my students is my top priority.
My Project
Here at Lenfest, we just started our first year of the Transition program. This program is designed to support students in developing their transition skills as they think about moving out of high school and into the real world.
One way we support this program is with "Brew Crew" Brew Crew is a student led coffee shop where students take orders from faculty, deliver tea and coffee, and use the money to fund their classroom projects.
Given that Brew Crew finally has its own room, we want to deck it out and have all the necessary supplies.
Part of this transition process is also developing socializing skills and communication skills, providing snacks to students helps them have a reason to socialize and communicate. Food is something people have bonded over since the beginning of time! We use it to do the same here.
