Transforming Our Tiny, Cozy Special Education Classroom!

Help me give my students the best opportunity to grow in our small, but ever growing space we call home . I am working hard to create an environment that fosters comfort and opportunity for success.

My Students

I am a first year special education teacher with a mission to support my students by creating the optimal environment for learning opportunities.

I work with a wonderful group of 4th graders in a small, rural community.

They are hard working and continue to overcome challenges and adversity. My students enjoy games, being active, and being silly with each other. Being part of a tight knit community, this group of kiddos pride on on their ability to support and lift one another up!

While sharing so much in common, they are also extremely unique in their personalities, needs, and preferences.

My Project

My students will benefit in several ways from flexibility in seating opportunities. Many of my students have sensory needs whom require flexible seating such as wobble seats and chairs. This choice of seating gives my wonderful student the opportunity to meet their basic needs, leading them to the optimal learning environment. The hands-on engaging marker table will provide the opportunity for students to engage is hands-on, student centered learning. By transforming our tiny, rural classroom into a place my students can view as their home, I believe our limits for learning will be endless!
