Every year, I intentionally decorate my classroom to create a space where students feel safe, valued, and excited to learn. Students consistently share that they enjoy being in my room because it feels comforting and welcoming, a space that helps them focus and feel at ease. Even last year, when I taught in a classroom with no windows, my goal was to transform it from a closed-off space into a nurturing environment.
This year, I want to continue that work and bring even more personality to our windowless room with string lights, paper fans, hanging flowers, vibrant bulletin board borders, and practical storage solutions.
These materials help me design a space where students forget the limitations of our room and instead feel inspired and energized every day. A beautiful and organized space is more than just décor; it's a reflection of how much I care about their experience and their learning.
