This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

For the past six years, we have been honored to receive and sustain generous student donations for our school clothes closet, a vital resource that ensures every student has access to necessary clothing. These contributions have played a crucial role in fostering a sense of community and support among our students.

As we continue to collect clothing, we recognize the imperative need for additional clothing racks to create a welcoming and inspiring environment.

Our goal is for students to feel comfortable and supported when they visit the closet, empowering them to freely request the resources they need without hesitation.

In our small rural community of Huron, located in Fresno County, where access to resources is often limited, we are continually uplifted by the overwhelming generosity of former Huron Elementary students and dedicated community members. Their selfless contributions and unwavering support of the clothes closet not only help meet immediate needs but also cultivate a spirit of resilience and compassion in our students. Together, we are building a nurturing space that encourages confidence and dignity among all who seek assistance.
